SoundMemes terms

Keep the chaos fun.

The practical rules for using, improving, and contributing to SoundMemes.

Using SoundMemes

Play fair, upload what you can share, and do not wreck the room.

These terms apply when you browse, create an account, upload a sound, download an available file, vote, suggest metadata, build a soundboard, report content, or otherwise use SoundMemes.

By using the service, you agree to these terms. If local law does not allow you to agree on your own, a parent or legal guardian must agree for you.

Accounts

Keep your access honest and secure.

Give us accurate information, use one account as yourself, and protect access to your email or Google account. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access.

Community conduct

Do not use a soundboard as a weapon.

Do not upload or use SoundMemes for illegal content, threats, targeted harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, private or identifying information, malware, spam, impersonation, or attempts to bypass security and moderation controls.

Uploads and rights

You must have the right to share what you upload.

You keep any rights you hold in your uploads. You confirm that you have the permissions needed to submit the audio, artwork, text, and metadata and to let SoundMemes operate them as described here.

You grant SoundMemes a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, transcode, stream, display, distribute, moderate, and promote submitted content for operating and improving the service. This licence ends when the content is removed, except for reasonable backup, security, legal, and audit retention and material that other users have independently contributed.

Suggestions about names, tags, transcripts, situations, and other factual metadata may be reviewed, edited, combined, accepted, or rejected. Submitting a suggestion does not guarantee publication.

Downloads and reuse

A download button is not a universal licence.

SoundMemes may make a specific audio file downloadable, but you remain responsible for deciding whether your intended use is lawful and permitted. A meme name, a playable file, and permission to reuse that file are separate things. Check the sound page and source information before reusing content elsewhere.

Read how SoundMemes separates versions and rights.

Moderation

We can restrict content and accounts.

We may limit, hide, remove, or preserve content; restrict features; or suspend accounts when reasonably needed for safety, rights, security, legal compliance, or service integrity. Reports can temporarily hide community uploads while they are reviewed. We may reverse a moderation decision when better information arrives.

Service availability

The site can change and occasionally break.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise that every sound, account, upload, download, route, or integration will always be available or error-free.

SoundMemes is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent allowed by law. We are not responsible for third-party content, websites, services, or the way another person uses a sound after obtaining it.

Ending use

You can leave; serious misuse can end access.

You may stop using SoundMemes at any time, sign out, withdraw eligible contributions, or ask us to delete your account. Provisions that reasonably need to survive—such as rights already granted for retained records, moderation evidence, dispute terms, and limitations—continue after use ends.

Changes and contact

We will keep this page current.

We may update these terms as the service changes. Material updates will be reflected here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the service after an update means the new terms apply where permitted by law.

Email admin@escalera.ai with terms questions. Use the report page or takedown process for a specific sound.

Effective August 30, 2026.
